Position Overview

Quality Improvement Specialist RN

*Reporting to a designated healthcare facility*

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, averaging 40 hours per week. Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM PST (some flexibility may be available).

The Quality Improvement Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing patient care quality, minimizing risks, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. This role involves providing support, facilitation, and coordination to drive clinical and procedural enhancements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer coaching and consultation to Managers, Directors, and Caregivers.
  • Assist in the development of the hospital's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Plan, along with departmental Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Act as a liaison to other projects and resources within the organization.
  • Stay informed about organizational, system, and healthcare quality trends.
  • Facilitate and serve as a subject matter expert for process improvement teams.
  • Provide expertise in GE tools and methodologies.

Clinical Studies and Review Activities:

  • Utilize prospective or retrospective methods to evaluate studies related to care effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement screening criteria, indicators, and data collection tools as necessary.
  • Compile data and prepare reports, presenting findings to relevant clinical, support, or medical staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Washington Registered Nurse License.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Education Program.
  • Five years of experience in an acute care hospital environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies, adult learning principles, and data analysis techniques.
