Job Title: QA/QC Certified Coatings Inspector

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections to ensure coatings applied by coatings team members or subcontractors comply with customer requirements, federal government, and NACE specifications
  • Stay updated on industry trends, standard changes, best practices, and equipment upgrades/improvements
  • Communicate regularly with leadership about division and department issues
  • Deliver work projects by assigned due dates
  • Maintain assigned work areas in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Ensure the safety of all assigned equipment
  • Meet productivity goals and quality standards as set by management

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial coatings QC setting
  • Shipyard/ship repair/marine coatings experience is a plus
  • NBPI, NACE CIP-1, or NACE CIP-2 certification is required
  • SSPC C7 and C14 certifications are a plus
  • Knowledge of the marine industry and NAVSEA Standards
  • Proficient with Word and Excel scheduling software

Working Conditions:

  • Work in extreme temperatures for extended periods
  • Move about on slippery, sloping, uneven, and unstable surfaces
  • Enter, move about within, and egress cargo tanks, cargo holds, and other confined spaces
  • Manipulate mechanical devices using manual and digital dexterity

Additional Requirements:

  • US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base access
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential
  • Valid State of Hawaii driver's license in good standing, class 3 or higher
