Job Overview

Lutheran Social Services is in search of a Part-Time Culinary Support Specialist to contribute to our dedicated team. The working hours for this role are from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Essential Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, though not mandatory. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.

Compensation: The hourly wage ranges from $14.20 to $19.66, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to the scheduled tasks and routing as assigned, ensuring organized operations.
  • Maintains a work pace that aligns with the established schedule.
  • Accurately weighs and measures food, ensuring proper portion control.
  • Ensures cleanliness of the work area and equipment by following established sanitation procedures.
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues and is willing to assist as needed.
  • Complies with the policies and procedures set forth by Lutheran Social Services and the Dietary Department.
  • Observes safety regulations and promptly reports any equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Performs additional tasks as directed by the Food Service Supervisor.
  • Understands the materials and methods used in large-scale food operations, as well as the care of kitchen equipment.
  • Effectively manages time to complete scheduled activities during each shift.
  • Operates kitchen food preparation and dishwashing equipment.
  • May utilize recipes for food production.
  • Works in a dishwashing area equipped with a large dish machine.
  • Hand-washes pots and pans and utilizes other cleaning equipment as necessary.
  • Employs appropriate cleaning products and adheres to established cleaning protocols.
  • Follows written and verbal instructions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Works collaboratively with team members across departments to fulfill assigned duties.
  • Participates in training sessions for all food service personnel or Lutheran staff.
  • Undertakes other related duties as assigned.
