Core Responsibilities

  • Procure both durable and non-durable goods for operational use
  • Draft purchase orders, solicit bids, and assess requisitions for products and services
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and vendors
  • Ensure procurement of high-quality merchandise at competitive prices and appropriate quantities
  • Oversee inventory management, including calibration of equipment
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to enhance procurement processes and achieve cost savings
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers, assessing their capabilities and negotiating terms that align with company goals
  • Maintain supplier relationships through regular performance evaluations and issue resolution
  • Analyze market trends and supplier performance to uncover improvement and cost-reduction opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production, engineering, and quality assurance to ensure timely material delivery
  • Assist with compliance audits and vendor coordination
  • Support technical issues related to on-site operations
  • Act as a backup for receiving incoming shipments and inventory management

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
  • Demonstrated experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer in a manufacturing context
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing advantageous terms
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems
  • Solid grasp of supply chain processes and logistics
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment

Office setting and manufacturing floor environments with controlled temperature conditions.

Expected Work Hours
This is a full-time hourly position requiring Monday through Friday availability, with occasional overtime as necessary.

Travel Requirements
Up to 10% travel may be necessary.
