About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Intern to join our Health, Safety, & Sustainability team at Toyota Material Handling. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our company's positive environmental impact across our four sustainability pillars: establishing a carbon-neutral society, promoting a circular economy, establishing a society in harmony with nature, and promoting environmental management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sustainability performance and promote responsible business practices.
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze data on energy consumption, waste management, carbon emissions, and other sustainability metrics.
  • Participate in a cross-functional working group working on the calculation of Scope 3 emissions.
  • Prepare corporate reports and presentations on ESG initiatives and performance.
  • Identify areas for improvement in carbon reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Research best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends in sustainability.
  • Assist with other projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic business software programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Gives attention to detail and follows instructions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management; maximizes productivity.
  • Prepares written materials to meet purpose and audience.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with internal and external parties.
