Join the Design Technologies team within Amazon Devices Hardware Engineering, where we focus on delivering advanced design software, enterprise applications, product data management (PDM), Computer Aided Design (CAD), and Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) solutions to support our Product Development, New Technology, Operations, and Manufacturing teams.


Your Responsibilities:

As an Electrical CAD (ECAD) Solutions Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing a robust and efficient suite of top-tier software tools for hardware engineers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing new features and functionalities within existing or prospective ECAD tools to evaluate their potential advantages.
  • Serving as the primary technical liaison with ECAD tool vendors to influence their development roadmaps in alignment with the needs of the Electrical Engineering community.
  • Collaborating with ECAD tool vendors to troubleshoot issues with vendor-supplied code and advocating for necessary enhancements and bug resolutions.
  • Promoting and facilitating the adoption of ECAD tools through process development and training initiatives.
  • Establishing best practices through comprehensive documentation and requirements definition for ECAD automation development.
  • Producing well-structured business requirements documents, system configuration documents, detailed functional design documents, user training materials, and implementation guides.
  • Managing and maintaining EDA scripts/automations and ECAD application extensions.
  • Supporting engineering tools and process automation by working closely with teams focused on Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and CAD systems.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to drive product design from concept to production.
Proven experience in managing technical project initiatives.

Our compensation structure reflects the labor market across various U.S. geographic regions. The base salary for this position ranges from $128,600 to $213,600, depending on market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon offers a comprehensive total compensation package, which may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
