Position Overview:
As an Electrical Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing electrical validation strategies for printed circuit boards (PCBs) and various subsystems. Collaborating closely with the system integration electrical engineering team and technology groups, you will ensure robust validation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage comprehensive test plans for individual modules and overarching systems, ensuring thorough validation coverage that encompasses System on Chip (SoC), low-speed signal interfaces (I2C, I2S), input/output signals, high-speed differential interfaces, and the electrical performance of subsystems including optical sensors, microphones, cameras, batteries, chargers, and RF components.
- Lead and conduct validation activities to achieve critical deadlines and priority objectives.
- Oversee the execution, analysis, and reporting of electrical validation progress and outcomes.
- Maintain oversight of coverage metrics and track issues encountered and resolved.
- Assist in system initialization and troubleshooting efforts.
- Effectively communicate test strategies and results to stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical System Verification within the consumer electronics sector.
- Proven experience in formulating validation test plans.
- Demonstrated ownership of significant aspects of electrical validation processes.
- Hands-on experience executing electrical validation in laboratory settings, with familiarity in using equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), electronic loads, power supplies, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and temperature chambers.
- Solid understanding of circuit schematics and board layouts, with the ability to identify suitable probe locations and potential failure points in the device under test (DUT).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, and LabView for data analysis and automation.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Self-driven and collaborative team player.
- Experience with mobile technologies, including smartphones, wearables, and AR/VR devices.
Essential Skills:
- Fundamental knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including ADCs, operational amplifiers, noise, and power regulation.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering validation tools such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, and spectrum analyzers.
- Basic software skills, including scripting, shell commands, and device flashing.
