Job Overview

Position Summary: This role is crucial for managing the daily operations of the laundry facility, ensuring that a sufficient supply of clean linens is maintained in line with the hotel's policies and brand standards aimed at guest satisfaction, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Receive and process soiled linens from housekeeping and other departments.
  • Transport dirty linens to the laundry area efficiently.
  • Sort linens and towels by category.
  • Inspect linens for stains, damage, or wear.
  • Implement stain removal techniques as directed by management.
  • Operate washing and drying machines with appropriate settings for various fabric types.
  • Manage the cleaning of dyeing rags.
  • Ensure the laundry area is kept clean and organized.
  • Regularly clean lint traps in laundry machines.
  • Dispose of waste in the laundry area appropriately.
  • Receive and organize supplies, maintaining proper stock levels.
  • Conduct inventory checks and maintain accurate records.
  • Follow operational procedures to reorder supplies as needed.

Customer Service and Guest Relations:

  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards.
  • Greet guests and staff in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Announce yourself before entering guest rooms.
  • Respond promptly to requests for guest supplies such as towels and toiletries.

Safety and Security:

  • Report any suspicious behavior observed among guests or staff.
  • Label and submit lost and found items to the designated manager.
  • Adhere to safety and security protocols at all times.
  • Comply with OSHA, HAZCOM, and Blood Borne Pathogens regulations.

Team Collaboration:

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Assist in training new team members when required.
  • Help maintain cleanliness in public areas as needed.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to work with cleaning and laundry chemicals safely.
  • Regular lifting of items, typically not exceeding 25 lbs, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing and walking, with limited sitting during breaks.
  • Frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending activities.
  • Occasional climbing of stairs and limited crawling.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Friendly demeanor with strong customer service skills.
  • Previous experience in hotel laundry or housekeeping is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning and laundry chemicals is advantageous.
