Job Title: Mortgage Loan Processor

Reports to: Retail Lending Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Grade: NE12

Supervisory Responsibility: No

SUMMARY:

The primary role of the Mortgage Loan Processor is to oversee the administrative and clerical aspects of the residential lending process. This includes managing the loan workflow and gathering necessary documentation as required by underwriting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor and/or Trustco Bank's Board of Directors.
  • Ensure all information in the Encompass database is accurate by verifying against original documents.
  • Conduct initial reviews of credit reports.
  • Coordinate property appraisals and ensure timely delivery to clients.
  • Order flood determinations.
  • Generate and distribute Loan Estimates, Settlement Service Provider's, and Home Counseling Providers paperwork.
  • Track the receipt of 3-day disclosures.
  • Perform Mavent Compliance Testing.
  • Conduct preliminary and final reviews of loan documentation.
  • Manage customer correspondence.
  • Maintain daily pipeline and provide support to all branch personnel and clients.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs; Excel and Word.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • An Associate's degree or higher in a business-related field.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS:

This is a full-time position. Office hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional Saturdays. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL:

Travel using a personal vehicle may be required, including occasional overnight travel. A valid driver's license is necessary.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace; bilingual skills are a plus. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, including but not limited to company policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients.
