Key Responsibilities


The Senior Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) will:

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care according to established standards.
  • Conduct health assessments by interviewing patients about their medical history and current health status.
  • Identify patient and family needs, providing education and instructional materials.
  • Offer psychosocial support to patients and their families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and ensure optimal patient care.
  • Manage medication refill requests and document relevant information in patient records.
  • Coordinate consultations, diagnostic tests, referrals, and future appointments.
  • Triag patient inquiries and document necessary information.
  • Enhance communication between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist patients in finding community resources.
  • Collaborate with LPN/LVNs and medical assistants as a resource.

Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree from an accredited nursing program, with a BSN preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in oncology nursing is highly preferred.
  • A current RN state license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physical Requirements


This role requires a full range of body motion, including lifting and handling patients, manual dexterity, and prolonged standing and walking. Occasionally, items weighing up to 40 lbs may need to be lifted. Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges are necessary.
