Objective of the Role:

The Security Operations Engineer plays a crucial role in sustaining Jopari's IT ecosystem and ensuring the secure operation of the company's business activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate and manage Jira tickets in collaboration with partners to fulfill IT tasks.
  • Analyze logs to verify traffic and troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain proactive communication regarding open issues with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detect and address security vulnerabilities within the cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee security tools and services.
  • Design and execute scalable processes for cloud access provisioning.
  • Ensure a reliable, user-friendly infrastructure with minimal intervention.
  • Evaluate alerts and events from security tools and respond accordingly.
  • Adjust security tool settings to reduce false positives.
  • Create documentation and processes for event response, including system environment diagrams, cloud operations, and security tools.
  • Collaborate with security leadership, engineering, and compliance teams to implement security strategies.
  • Support other teams in resolving security challenges while adhering to business requirements and best practices.
  • Assess current cloud security measures and recommend enhancements or solutions.
  • Review architectural designs through a security perspective to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on security tools, applications, and processes.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering preferred, along with 5+ years of relevant experience in an information security capacity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with effective interpersonal abilities.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technical skills and changes.
  • Proficient in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of performing efficiently under pressure.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • 5+ years of experience with public cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience in deploying and customizing security tools such as vulnerability scanners, static analyzers, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security monitoring.
  • Familiarity with automated security testing.
  • Experience with networking and Linux server environments.
  • Knowledge of log management and/or correlation systems.
  • Proficient in one or more scripting languages.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cloud and network security principles.
  • Familiarity with networking and web protocols.
  • Knowledge of modern cloud technology components and deployment strategies.
  • Possession of security-related certifications (NIST framework preferred).
