We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to oversee the daily activities of our driver personnel. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our fleet, ensuring that our drivers are safe, productive, and deliver on-time to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Communicate with Load Planners: Collaborate with load planners to ensure that drivers are assigned to the most efficient routes and that ETAs are communicated effectively.
- Utilize McLeod Software: Use our operating software to assign work to drivers across the country, ensuring that our fleet is running smoothly and efficiently.
- Direct Daily Activities: Direct the daily activities of drivers to designated territories or dedicated operations in accordance with company policies, procedures, and business objectives.
- Compliance and Safety: Provide drivers with guidance on complying with local, state, and federal statutes regulating the trucking industry, ensuring that our drivers are safe and compliant.
- Driver Support: Counsel drivers and assist them with over-the-road issues, ensuring that our drivers are supported and empowered to succeed.
- Document Management: Assist drivers with keeping important documents up to date, such as driver's license renewal, random drug tests, and physicals.
- Education: Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or 1-3 years of experience in dispatch or fleet management.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient experience with truck dispatch software, including McLeod.
- Industry Knowledge: Flatbed experience a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with drivers, load planners, and other stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: Must be detail-oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with drivers and other team members.
