Position Overview

The Clinton Hill Community & Early Childhood Center is in search of a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to enhance our finance department. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the accounting team, ensuring the precision and effectiveness of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Record and process financial transactions within the accounting software.
  • Prepare and maintain various financial documentation and reports.
  • Conduct data entry while ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Assist in performing bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations.
  • Support payroll processing and related activities.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Help in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Provide assistance during audits and other financial evaluations.
  • Carry out general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and scanning.
  • Support additional accounting and finance-related tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting assistant role or similar capacity.
  • Fundamental understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Associate degree in accounting or a related discipline.
