The Mailroom Operations Specialist plays a crucial role within the Revenue Cycle Management team, ensuring that all incoming correspondence is accurately processed and directed to the appropriate departments.
Work Environment:
Located in a professional office setting, this position requires full-time commitment from Monday to Friday, typically operating from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some flexibility and potential for additional hours based on business needs.
Compensation:
Hourly wage of $16.00
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, open, and categorize incoming mail from various sources.
- Verify the presence of patient account numbers on all documents.
- Utilize billing software to identify patient account numbers when they are missing.
- Digitally scan and upload documents into the document management system for future reference.
- Process incoming electronic faxes efficiently.
- Accurately route documents intended for other departments.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months experience in data entry, particularly with 10-key proficiency.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Familiarity with basic computer functions such as Copy, Cut, Paste, and Select All.
Preferred Experience:
- 6 months of experience in a mailroom environment.
- Familiarity with Respond Billing / Sweet software.
- Experience using SharePoint.
- Proficiency in keyboard shortcuts (e.g., Ctrl + C for Copy).
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills:
- Efficient typing skills with a focus on 10-key usage.
- Ability to apply data entry procedures accurately to patient accounts.
- Strong critical thinking skills to assess various solutions and approaches to tasks.
