We are seeking a highly skilled Educational Support Specialist to join our team in Newport, New Hampshire. This is a full-time position offering opportunities in both 1:1 and shared settings across elementary, middle school, and high school campuses.



This role requires a minimum of 1+ years of experience working as a paraprofessional or in special education. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, with additional requirements for elementary positions requiring a Para II certificate.



Job Responsibilities:


  • Instructional and Behavioral Support: Provide evidence-based instructional and behavioral support to students in either 1:1 or shared para settings.
  • IEP Implementation: Assist in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting instructional materials as needed to ensure student success.
  • Culturally Responsive Learning Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that caters to students with diverse needs, backgrounds, and abilities.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement educational strategies and interventions designed to promote student growth and development.
  • De-escalation Techniques: Utilize evidence-based de-escalation techniques to support students in managing behavior effectively and promoting a safe learning environment.


Requirements:


  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification: Para II certificate required for elementary school positions.
  • Experience: Experience working with students in educational or related settings preferred.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Educational Strategies: Knowledge of educational strategies and ability to support instructional activities.
