Overview:


The primary goal of this task order is to support the Testing Coordination Branch in creating and implementing a comprehensive testing strategy that adheres to industry standards, ensuring that decennial systems are developed according to specifications and are ready for production.


Background:


The DCMD Testing Coordination Branch provides essential support to system owners and stakeholders for data collection functional areas throughout the development, testing, and production phases.

This includes aiding in the development and testing of self-response and field data collection systems and instruments for decennial census operations.

We coordinate solution-level operational testing, including user-acceptance testing, integration testing, exception testing, and readiness assessments for mid-decade operational tests and 2030 Census production.

The branch also oversees the testing of devices necessary for mid-decade tests and the 2030 Census at headquarters and field offices.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist the team in establishing and designing testing systems (e.g., QMetry, Jira).
  • Set up test accounts.
  • Validate testing environments.
  • Draft test cases.
  • Review and validate test cases created by stakeholders.
  • Document defects with detailed steps and screenshots.
  • Participate in meetings to gather information necessary for developing the test plan and writing test cases.
  • Provide training to stakeholders on testing systems (including how to write a test case, execute a test case, and report a defect).
  • Ensure test data availability and create test data as needed.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.

4 years of relevant experience is essential.

Clearance:
Public Trust clearance is necessary.

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.

Certification(s):
Relevant industry certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
