Advocate Aurora Health is in search of a dedicated Radiology Technologist to join our team in providing exceptional healthcare services.
Position OverviewThe role of the Radiology Technologist encompasses a variety of responsibilities essential for delivering high-quality imaging services.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Positioning and Equipment Operation: Accurately positions patients and adjusts imaging equipment to capture optimal radiographic images. This includes:
- Utilizing appropriate immobilization and support devices to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Determining the best radiographic techniques based on patient anatomy and clinical condition.
- Gathering patient history relevant to the imaging procedure for review by radiologists.
- Advanced Equipment Management: Operates sophisticated radiology equipment and assists in specialized procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintains a safe environment by following established safety standards, including:
- Implementing universal precautions during all procedures.
- Ensuring proper patient shielding and maintaining cleanliness in the imaging area.
- Managing inventory and supplies for efficient operation.
- Quality Control Coordination: Responsible for ensuring the quality of imaging outputs, which includes:
- Performing quality checks on images and coordinating patient flow through the department.
- Preparing rooms and equipment for imaging procedures.
- Documenting and labeling images according to departmental standards.
- Training and Mentorship: Provides guidance and support to new technologists, including:
- Offering direction on specific imaging procedures.
- Participating in performance assessments and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Graduation from an accredited AMA School of Radiology.
- Current IDNS license and ARRT certification.
- 1-3 years of experience in general radiography.
- Proficient in health information systems and radiology equipment.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to make independent decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to lift and move patients safely, with the use of assistive devices when necessary.
- Capability to work under stressful conditions while maintaining high standards of patient care.
