Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Roofing and Carpentry professional to join our team at Lee County Board of County Commissioners. As a key member of our Facilities Construction and Management department, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our properties, including parks, jails, and administrative buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints and tackle complex installations and repairs.
  • Frame structures using metal or wood.
  • Handle demolition, drywall hanging, and finishing.
  • Repair doors, windows, and hardware.
  • Install and maintain ceiling grids and tiles.
  • Work with concrete, cabinets, countertops, and handrails.
  • Operate shop equipment and tools, including forklifts and aerial platforms.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two years of commercial roofing, carpentry, or closely related experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Ability to pass background checks (NCIC, fingerprinting, and standard consumer report).

Lee County employees eligible to participate in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) are required to contribute 3% of each paycheck to FRS.

If you have retired from the Florida Retirement Pension plan you will not be eligible for renewed membership in either of the FRS retirement plan options.

Retirees of the Investment Plan are eligible for renewed membership in the Investment Plan only. FRS reemployment rules apply for both.
