Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Arrow Sanitary, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Portland, Oregon.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced Diesel Mechanic to work on our fleet of garbage trucks. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on engines, chassis, and body components, as well as hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels, and tires.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect equipment and trucks for condition, operations, parts, and fluid levels.
  • Repair and maintain engines, chassis, and body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels, and tires.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software.
  • Review and complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Perform maintenance-related work as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in diesel mechanics.
  • Welding or fabrication experience preferred.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement preferred.
  • Ability to work on-call one weekend a month.
