Key Responsibilities

As a Nutritional Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring adherence to food preparation and sanitation standards in a safe environment.
  • Preparing and serving meals according to prescribed dietary plans.
  • Completing additional tasks as directed by the Dietary Services Director.

Essential Skills:

  • Effective communication with residents and team members in English.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds independently.
  • Proficient in observing residents' needs and responding to emergencies.
  • Physical ability to assist residents, including bending, stretching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Competence in using kitchen equipment safely and effectively.


Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Two years of experience in the food service sector (preferred).
  • Current Tuberculosis (TB) testing and Annual Health Assessment.
  • Knowledge of sanitary food preparation standards.
  • Valid references and a clean criminal record check.


Work Environment

This role is situated in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment. There may be occasional exposure to residents with communicable diseases or those who may exhibit challenging behaviors. Some outdoor work may be required during resident events.

Appropriate protective equipment will be provided when handling chemicals or cleaning materials. Competence in using various food preparation tools, such as slicers and mixers, is essential.
