We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Dean of Operations and Academic Programs to join our team at Harper College. As a key member of our Division, you will play a critical role in supporting the Division Dean and implementing new initiatives using effective project management skills. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing Division Operations, including personnel management, academic program development, and fiscal management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Division Dean to design, implement, and continuously improve academic programs that align with current and emerging industry needs.
  • Work with Program Coordinators to assess the effectiveness of lab assistants and identify staffing needs.
  • Provide oversight and supervision to Education and Work Center, Learning Career Center, and the WIOA partnership.
  • Interview and recommend adjunct faculty and evaluate division adjunct faculty.
  • Maintain awareness of and assure compliance with employee contract and handbook procedures.
  • Attend and participate in institutional committee meetings and serve as the Division Dean's designee for institutional meetings and events.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution among staff and others within the Division in consultation with the Division Dean.
  • Facilitate internal and external Division events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A Master's Degree, preferably in higher education leadership or a discipline represented by the Division.
  • A minimum of two years continuous supervisory and/or management experience working in higher education.
  • A thorough understanding and direct experience in Career and Technical Programs.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of planning, program development, evaluation, and budgeting, preferably in a community college setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years as a Department Chair, Program Coordinator, Operations Manager, or similar academic leadership.
  • Direct experience working with Career and Technical programs.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
