Job Title: General Manager

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant General Manager to lead our team at Cherry Street Pub.

Job Summary:

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire restaurant operation, ensuring exceptional guest services, and maintaining a positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the entire restaurant operation, including managing staff, inventory, and finances.
  • Deliver exceptional guest services, ensuring guest satisfaction and responding efficiently to guest questions and complaints.
  • Plan and develop the overall restaurant marketing strategy, including creating and executing marketing campaigns.
  • Manage restaurants tech stack, including point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
  • Organize and supervise shifts, ensuring that all staff are properly trained and equipped to provide excellent service.
  • Manage and lead staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Develop hourly and salary staff, including creating and implementing training programs.
  • Hire new employees, including conducting interviews and making hiring decisions.
  • Terminate employees when necessary, following company policies and procedures.
  • Training and evaluate staff performance, including providing feedback and coaching.
  • Manage food cost, forecast requirements, and maintain inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies.
  • Manage restaurant supplies, including smallwares and equipment.
  • Control costs and minimize waste, including implementing cost-saving initiatives.
  • Create and nurture a positive working environment, including promoting a culture of excellence and respect.
  • Implement innovative strategies to improve productivity, sales, and food quality, including analyzing data and making data-driven decisions.
Requirements:
  • Ideally, 5+ years of experience as a Restaurant General Manager or similar role.
  • Ideally, 5+ years of experience guest service management.
  • Extensive food and wine knowledge.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software.
  • Experience in event planning.
  • Strong leadership, motivational, and people skills.
  • Good financial management skills.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Culinary school diploma or BS degree in Business Administration.
