Our mission is to assist children and families in navigating a variety of challenges through our Therapeutic Mentoring program.

As a Youth Support Specialist, you will engage with children and adolescents up to the age of 21 through community-based activities. Your role will involve supporting, coaching, and training youth in essential life skills such as age-appropriate behaviors, effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and building relationships with peers and adults. You will collaborate with a treatment team, share your insights, and learn new techniques in a supportive environment that values professional growth.

Minimum Educational Requirements:
Associate's Degree

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage youth in various social, recreational, athletic, and artistic activities within the community.
  • Participate in all provider team meetings and collaborate with youth, families, and other stakeholders to promote healthy functioning in the community.
  • Implement suitable interventions to support both the youth and their parent/guardian/caregiver.
  • Provide transportation for members as needed in relation to service delivery.
  • Offer guidance in decision-making during both crisis and non-crisis situations.
  • Attend essential meetings, including care planning, school, and hospital discharge meetings.
  • Facilitate referrals and connections to appropriate resources and services.
  • Conduct outreach to engage members and their families as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and one (1) year of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth OR Associate's degree from an accredited institution and one (1) year of experience with the target population OR High school diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Familiarity with the CBHI system of care is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with referral sources, colleagues, and partner organizations.
  • Preferred candidates will demonstrate an understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
