Overview:
Join the Dietary team at Trinity Health, where we are dedicated to providing compassionate care to our communities.
Role Purpose:
Oversees and mentors all assigned food service personnel. Manages various food service operations (including patient feeding, cafeteria services, and special events). Ensures compliance with all departmental policies and procedures. Maintains logs and generates reports pertinent to assigned responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises daily activities of assigned food service staff.
- Collaborates with department leadership on all HR-related functions, including recruitment, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions as necessary. Conducts employee performance evaluations.
- Creates employee work schedules and provides coverage for absences.
- In the absence of the Department Head, assumes responsibility for all food service staff.
- Ensures adherence to all safety, sanitation, and food handling protocols.
- Participates as a checker on the patient tray line.
- Maintains essential logs, including temperature checks for refrigeration and dishwashing equipment, food temperatures, sanitizer test strips, and sanitation inspection reports.
- Assists in the procurement of food and non-food supplies for the Dietary/Nutrition Department.
- Performs administrative functions related to dietary operations.
- Operates in a standard environment with minimal physical discomforts. Some lifting may be required.
- High school diploma or GED is required. ServSafe certification is mandatory.
- 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in food service is required. Must demonstrate the ability to manage food service personnel and maintain operational organization.
- Proficient in various food service management tasks, including scheduling, training, recordkeeping, and ensuring compliance with departmental policies.
- Knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy, including food allergies.
- Ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations and think critically to resolve issues.
- Full-Time 37.5 Hours - Day Shift
