Job Overview

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

To provide exceptional service to guests by efficiently serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as light meals, in accordance with the standards of our establishment. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the service area and equipment while ensuring a memorable experience for our guests that encourages their return.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete the Opening Checklist as directed by management and communicate any supply needs for a successful shift.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of glassware and garnishes for each beverage, utilizing the reference materials provided.
  • Deliver service in alignment with established standards, proactively seeking solutions to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of all menu offerings, including liquor brands, beers, mixology recipes, and non-alcoholic options available in the assigned area.
  • Maintain awareness of wine selections, both by the glass and bottle, to engage effectively with guests.
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge guests consistently, escalating any concerns to management as necessary.
  • Remain actively engaged on the floor, ensuring guest presence from the start to the conclusion of their experience.
  • Adhere strictly to state liquor laws, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated individuals, as per training guidelines.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, proper setups, capacity, operational hours, menus, pricing, and dress code.
  • Understand the correct use and maintenance of equipment, adhering closely to maintenance protocols.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and condition of assigned service areas, addressing any deficiencies promptly.
  • Follow all cash handling and credit policies/procedures diligently.
  • File all receipts appropriately as instructed.
  • Complete the Closing Checklist as required.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, flexibility in scheduling may be necessary to meet the operational needs of the establishment. Regular attendance in accordance with company standards is crucial for success in this role. Inconsistent attendance may lead to disciplinary actions.

Associates are expected to provide 'Lateral Service' as needed, ensuring customer satisfaction is prioritized. If assistance is required from other departments, associates should respond positively unless it may compromise guest satisfaction, in which case management should be notified.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to the essential functions, this position may involve:

  • Performing general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned to maintain health standards.
  • Clearing, resetting, and preparing tables for new guests.
  • Completing assigned side work, including replenishing condiments and restocking supplies.
  • Assisting with answering phones, taking orders, and greeting guests in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Participating in required meetings to enhance communication and education.
  • Adhering to all relevant liquor regulations to ensure compliance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role requires various physical activities, including:

  • Walking and climbing stairs (constant)
  • Crouching, bending, and stooping (occasional)
  • Reaching and grasping (constant)
  • Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs (frequent)

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Six months to one year of previous serving experience is preferred, with a background in hospitality being advantageous.

CERTIFICATIONS: Food Handler Certification and Responsible Vendor Training are preferred.

GROOMING: All associates must maintain a neat and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
