Beverage Service Specialist

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
To provide exceptional service to guests by delivering alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with light meals, adhering to the high standards set by the establishment. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the service area and equipment, ensuring a memorable experience for our patrons that encourages their return. Our aim is to offer a luxury service level that distinguishes our property in the hospitality market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete the Opening Checklist as directed by management and communicate any supply needs for an effective shift.
- Possess thorough knowledge of glassware and garnishes for each beverage, utilizing the provided reference materials.
- Serve guests in line with established service standards, focusing on solutions rather than limitations.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the menu offerings, including liquor brands, beers, mixology recipes, and non-alcoholic options available in the designated area.
- Be knowledgeable about wine selections, both by the glass and bottle, to engage effectively with our clientele.
- Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge guests consistently, reporting any uncertainties to management.
- Remain actively engaged on the floor, ensuring guest presence from start to finish.
- Understand and comply with state liquor laws, particularly those regarding service to minors and intoxicated individuals, as per training guidelines.
- Retain knowledge of table and station assignments, proper setups, operational hours, menu details, pricing, and dress code for the assigned area.
- Ensure proper maintenance and usage of equipment, adhering closely to maintenance protocols.
- Inspect the cleanliness and condition of assigned service areas, addressing any issues promptly.
- Follow all cash handling and credit policies and procedures.
- File all receipts accurately with the designated front desk system.
- Complete the Closing Checklist as required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varied schedules to meet the operational needs of the establishment. Regular attendance in accordance with the standards set by the company is crucial for success in this role. Employees with inconsistent attendance may face disciplinary actions.
As part of our commitment to customer satisfaction, employees may be called upon to provide support to colleagues in the operation when necessary. It is expected that all staff respond positively to such requests unless it may lead to guest dissatisfaction, in which case management should be informed.
SUPPORTIVE TASKS:
In addition to the primary responsibilities, this position may involve a variety of supportive tasks as determined by management, including:
- Performing general cleaning duties using standard cleaning products to maintain health standards.
- Clearing, resetting, and preparing tables for new guests in the lounge area.
- Completing assigned side work, such as replenishing condiments and restocking supplies.
- Assisting with answering phones, taking orders, and accommodating special guest requests.
- Participating in required meetings and contributing to communication and educational efforts.
- Adhering to all relevant state and federal regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.

Integrate into the cultural foundation of the establishment by understanding and participating in all elements of the company's core values. Demonstrate a working knowledge of service standards.
SAFETY PROTOCOLS:
Compliance with OSHA regulations requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing tasks that may pose health or safety risks:
- Slip-resistant safety shoes are preferred.
- Use of gloves (latex, vinyl, plastic) as necessary.
- Apron for service duties.
Employees will receive training on the proper use and care of assigned PPE, which will be provided by the company. It is the employee's responsibility to report any defective or improperly fitting PPE to management.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred experience of six months to one year in a serving role, with prior hospitality experience being advantageous.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Food Handler Certification; Responsible Vendor Training; CPR Training preferred.
GROOMING STANDARDS:
All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance, adhering to specific grooming standards as outlined by the company.
