Pine Gate Renewables is on the lookout for a Senior Manager of General Ledger and Financial Reporting. This pivotal role will oversee the general ledger and financial accounting/reporting processes, directly reporting to the Director of Accounting. The selected candidate will engage in diverse business functions, including project management, ERP system rollouts, resource management, process enhancements, and audit readiness. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to excel in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate monthly consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages. Supervise the preparation and review of month-end journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain and optimize the general ledger structure, continuously improving accounting workflows.
  • Evaluate, research, and document the appropriate US GAAP treatment for various business transactions. Develop and update the company's accounting policies as necessary.
  • Take ownership of implementing and maintaining components of upstream data systems that affect financial accuracy.
  • Support business growth by identifying and executing process improvements, managing special projects, and adapting to change.
  • Oversee the general ledger, consolidated financial reporting, and monthly budget-to-actual reporting functions.
  • Manage daily operations, including journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and account analysis, providing explanations for any account changes.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements to ensure they accurately reflect the organization's transactions.
  • Enhance the Corporate Accounting brand within Pine Gate Renewables by building relationships across functional areas to improve financial reporting accuracy and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and execution of accounting and financial software systems.
  • Meet performance expectations and adhere to established deadlines.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in financial reporting and general ledger management.
  • Expertise in intercompany transactions and eliminations.
  • Experience with complex organizational structures.
  • Proficiency in ERP system implementation.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with auditing processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficient in automated accounting systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong familiarity with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and General Ledger software.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
