About the Role

LCMC Health is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Milieu Management/Safety: Assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu by monitoring compliance with program rules and providing assistance with security and supportive manpower.
  • Constantly monitor the facility for hazards or harmful items in the environment and report any safety issues to nursing staff.
  • Monitor patients in the facility according to precautions and complete patient observation sheets on assigned patients.
  • Assist nurses with patient care tasks and other duties assigned.
  • Ensure the room is safe by completing the room readiness checklist and keep patient room neat and orderly.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Allied Health, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferred 3 years of experience on a psychiatric unit or in another healthcare setting.
  • BLS certification and CPI training (recommended during orientation period).
