Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Associate/Mental Health Tech to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide delegated nursing care responsibilities to Adult/Geriatric/Medical Psychiatric patients. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality care, ensuring the well-being and safety of our patients.

Responsibilities

Provides care and support services for assigned patients, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
Completes documentation of patient-related tasks, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, demonstrating respect for privacy and adapting communication styles as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in psychology or sociology or related field.
Prior experience in psychiatry is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification is also required.

Physical and Environmental Demands
The physical demands of this role include frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. As a healthcare professional, you will be exposed to hazardous medications and waste within the environment, requiring adherence to established safety protocols.
