About the Role

The State of Florida is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Clerk to join our team. As a Senior Clerk, you will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our office, ensuring the smooth flow of administrative tasks and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign case numbers to incoming inquiries and process Ready Charges, creating cases to be assigned to the Regulatory Specialist for processing.
  • Scan incoming inquiries that do not require a case to be created and apply a Technical Assistance inquiry created in the Case Management System (Actionstep).
  • Answer department-wide incoming calls and provide assistance to clients.
  • Serve as the main support to the Senior Clerk (Receptionist), opening and date-stamping incoming hand-delivered packages, complaint charge forms, etc. received at the front desk.
  • Search the Case Management System (Actionstep) and identify the correct location for hand-delivered packages, complaint charge forms, etc., to be properly distributed to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with preparing postage and processing all outgoing mail.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of secretarial or clerical work experience.
  • College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.
  • Vocational/technical training in the area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to those individuals who have experience in Fair Housing or Employment Investigations.
