Job Description:

The Human Resources Generalist will play a critical role in supporting the Newark Housing Authority's mission to provide affordable housing and services to low-income families. As a member of our HR team, you will be responsible for implementing human resources programs, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, and providing exceptional service to our employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement human resources programs, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and training
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary issues
  • Manage employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and time-off policies
  • Develop and implement performance improvement plans, conduct performance evaluations, and administer disciplinary actions
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, and a minimum of 2 years' experience in HR generalist or a related role. You should also possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
