Tool and Die Maintenance Technician

Purpose:

The primary objective of this role is to perform die repair and in-press trouble shooting with a focus on maintaining and repairing metal stamping dies.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accurate die repair and maintenance.
  • Apply expertise in maintenance and repair of metal stamping dies to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement effective troubleshooting and problem-solving strategies to resolve die-related issues.
  • Work with close tolerances and demonstrate proficiency in the metric system.
  • Meet the demands of a dynamic work schedule and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Operate an overhead crane safely and efficiently.
  • Employ basic hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers to perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain a safe and responsible work environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Set up and operate standard machine shop equipment to support die repair and maintenance efforts.
  • Bonus points for experience with welding and a proven track record of good attendance.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in automotive progressive and draw dies for ton presses.
  • Proven expertise in die maintenance and repair within a stamping facility.

Physical Requirements:
  • Pass a basic industrial physical, drug screen, audiogram, and tetanus shot prior to employment.
  • Work in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting, performing tasks that include sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
