About the Position

The Field Inspector will play a crucial role in assisting the FTTH OSP Engineer in the deployment of Outside Plant in assigned markets. This position requires a strong focus on ensuring the integrity of the extensive FTTH fiber optic network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular inspections of the fiber optic network to confirm production numbers and ensure restoration is completed properly and satisfactorily.
  • Take concise field notes and be responsible for all field work, staking sheets, permits, ROW, and the final drafting of the field notes when required.
  • Make recommendations on all findings and needed changes, with supervision from the OSP Engineer.
  • Perform other assisting duties as requested.
Requirements
  • A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and minimum state required auto insurance policy.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
  • Overtime is required.
  • Ability to travel 90% of the time, with some overnight stays.
  • Must be available for emergency callouts and potential night maintenance.
  • Functional knowledge of PC applications and OSP record and/or computer-aided drafting systems.
  • 1+ years of Field Technician experience.
  • Previous experience working with fiber preferred but not required.
  • Previous Field Inspector experience preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of outside plant design principles, work order procedures, telephone industry standards.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects at a time.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
