Position Overview:

The Construction Site Supervisor is responsible for site leadership and overseeing daily operational decisions on utility-scale Battery Storage projects. This role involves effectively managing both company and subcontractor crews on-site. The supervisor will facilitate project planning and ensure the delivery of a safe, high-quality, and timely product. Responsibilities include maintaining project schedules, budgets, and contractual commitments, along with frequent engagement with clients, analyzing construction documents, coordinating trades, and attending meetings. Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in computer applications are essential, along with expertise in pile/concrete foundations, AC and DC electrical work, and layered conduit routing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote safety as a fundamental value across the organization, supporting the corporate safety program and personnel.
  • Assist the project manager in developing project budgets and estimating production rates.
  • Conduct accurate take-offs and assist the project manager in obtaining customer approval for necessary documents.
  • Generate and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to the project manager for customer submission.
  • Receive, store, and safeguard project materials and equipment, including owner-furnished items; report any shortages or damages immediately.
  • Oversee the utilization of equipment assigned to the project site.
  • Manage the successful execution of all installations from initiation to completion.
  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee the activities of mechanical, electrical, and underground crews, including timecard submissions and cost coding.
  • Ensure crew efficiency and success in maintaining productivity boards, crew matrices, schedules, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Track and report daily progress, notable occurrences, and upcoming events.
  • Assist the project manager with weekly forecasting and/or look-ahead planning.
  • Participate in customer-required meetings and address any arising questions.
  • Ensure that all inspections by Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and Quality Assurance are successfully passed and properly documented.
  • Consult with the Operations Manager and Director of Construction to resolve issues arising from inclement weather, emergencies, or other delays.
  • Maintain accurate and organized project records.
  • Provide support and assistance to other divisions within Cinterra as necessary.
  • Encourage and uphold safety as a core value throughout the project.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and ensure all project personnel conduct themselves professionally.
  • Handle special assignments and additional duties as requested by leadership.
  • Coordinate with various teams, including project management, procurement, logistics, quality control, and installation crews.
  • Oversee quality control processes, ensuring all operations comply with site specifications outlined in the project drawings.
  • Manage on-site logistics, ensuring materials and equipment are staged in advance of installation.
  • Conduct site inspections and coordinate with local authorities and utility companies as necessary.
  • Lead team meetings, provide training and support to team members, and address any on-site issues.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required; advanced education is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of construction management experience in utility-scale solar is required.
  • At least eight years of experience in utility-scale solar and/or construction is required.
  • NFPA 70E Certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations is required; OSHA training and certifications are preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
  • Ability to work long and/or extended hours, including weekends, as needed, with frequent travel.
  • Knowledge of local codes, AHJ standards, and NEC code is essential.
  • Requires a working knowledge of pile installation, tracker installation, module installation, AC and DC installation, including the equipment used.
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts, plans, and specifications is necessary.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines are crucial.
  • A collaborative work style and a commitment to completing tasks are essential.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position frequently operates in a field environment, requiring extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting. The role may involve working in inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, requiring the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
