Job Description

Job Summary:

The Family Support Coach will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of children and their families. This position will focus on providing coaching and guidance to families, helping them to achieve their goals and improve their overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

Family Support and Coaching

The Family Support Coach will work closely with families to identify their strengths and challenges, and develop personalized plans to support their needs. This will include:

  • Providing coaching and guidance to families on topics such as parenting, child development, and education.
  • Helping families to set and achieve their goals, and providing support and resources to help them overcome obstacles.
  • Connecting families with community resources and services that can help them to improve their well-being and quality of life.
Family Engagement and Transition

The Family Support Coach will also work to engage families in their children's education and development, and support them through transitions such as starting school or moving to a new home. This will include:

  • Working with families to develop plans for their children's education and development, and providing support and resources to help them achieve their goals.
  • Helping families to navigate the education system, and connecting them with resources and services that can help them to support their children's learning.
  • Supporting families through transitions such as starting school or moving to a new home, and providing them with the resources and support they need to adjust to these changes.
Health and Wellness

The Family Support Coach will also work to support the health and wellness of children and their families. This will include:

  • Providing information and resources to families on topics such as nutrition, health, and wellness.
  • Helping families to access healthcare services and connect with community resources that can support their health and wellness.
  • Working with families to develop plans for their health and wellness, and providing them with the support and resources they need to achieve their goals.
Teamwork and Professionalism

The Family Support Coach will work as part of a team to support the well-being and development of children and their families. This will include:

  • Collaborating with other staff members to provide comprehensive support to families.
  • Communicating effectively with families, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that everyone is working together to support the well-being and development of children and their families.
  • Providing high-quality services to families, and continuously seeking ways to improve and enhance the support we provide.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a field such as family and consumer sciences, child and family development, or social work.
  • At least two years of experience in a family support type position.
  • Excellent analytical and listening skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work effectively with community partners.
  • Must be familiar with best practices for family-centered, quality early childhood education.
  • Must be able to facilitate parent meetings and workshops.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to visually observe and hear children from all areas of the classroom and playground from a distance of at least 70 feet.
  • Be able to sit on the floor to interact with children.
