Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our Department of Health Promotion and Policy. Under the supervision of two Principal Investigators, you will work on multiple research projects focusing on health promotion and policy initiatives. Your key responsibilities will include conducting interviews with research participants, facilitating focus groups, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, coordinating training events, ensuring research projects meet regulatory requirements, and overseeing COVID-19 mitigation efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree
  • Experience working with vulnerable and marginalized populations, preferably in teaching or training contexts
  • At least 1-year of experience with data collection, including coordinating and assisting with data collection via focus groups and 1:1 interviews
  • Organizational skills to maintain records, plan and schedule meetings and presentations
  • Skill in speaking and writing to persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds
  • Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and relevant software programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in public health or social science field
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Expertise in re-contact methods and interviewing
  • Competency with Atlas.ti, NVivo and/or STATA

Salary and Benefits:

This is a senior/research fellow position with a competitive salary estimated at $65,000 per year. The University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
