Design Professor

The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks a talented tenure-track faculty member to join its esteemed Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.

**Job Summary:**

• We are looking for a highly motivated Assistant Professor with expertise in mechanical design, specifically digital twin technology, robotics, renewable energy, sustainable product development, or medical devices.
• The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field by August 31, 2025.

Responsibilities:

• Teach existing graduate and undergraduate courses in Mechanical Engineering, including mechanical design.
• Develop innovative curricula in their area of interest or across disciplines.
• Conduct research that aligns with the College of Engineering's Strategic Plan.
• Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
