About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at STV. As an Environmental Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our clients and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and conduct field inspections to identify potential environmental health hazards.
  • Review and manage data results from the field to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Manage and perform mold assessments and lead inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Interact with engineers, architects, property managers, and lead abatement contractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare detailed reports to document findings and recommendations.
  • Flexible and able to work on-call for night work and weekend work as needed.
  • Periodic site visits to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Review and analyze mold O&M plans and other documents to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Review and analyze lead-based paint XRF reports and abatement reports to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
Requirements
  • 0-2 years of experience in mold assessment and lead-based paint inspections, design, monitoring project management.
  • Knowledge of NYC regulations, NYS regulations, HUD guidelines.
  • NYCHA experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • NYSDOL Mold Assessor certification.
  • USEPA Lead Risk Assessor certification.
  • Excellent project management, writing, communication, data analysis, professional judgement, and knowledge of regulations.
  • Strong quality assurance/quality control skills to perform technical, style, and consistency reviews.
  • Self-sufficient, self-motivated, and ability to work under pressure of deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytics and organizational capabilities.
  • New York State driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • New York City and State agency experience.
