About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to join our fast-paced and exciting work environment. Under the direction of the Vice President & General Counsel, you will join a growing legal team focused on energy and infrastructure project development and related real estate and commercial transactions. As a Senior Counsel, you will provide professional legal advice, counsel, and guidance to support the development of our growing renewable and clean energy portfolio. You will be responsible for a broad spectrum of internal and external legal issues and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in a wide variety of real estate matters, including lease drafting and negotiation, real estate document preparation and negotiation, title and survey review, and closing coordination.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate commercial contracts across a wide range of transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual matters, risk management, compliance issues, and other areas of the company as needed.
Qualifications
  • JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one state in the U.S.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as in-house counsel or within a law firm (or a combination thereof) drafting and negotiating leases and other real estate documents.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law with experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Entrepreneurial-minded individual able to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders under minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional writing, proof-reading, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and present complex legal ideas and concepts in a clear and concise fashion.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and balance a heavy workload.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with renewable energy development.
