Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of Police Officer. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, preventing crimes, and providing excellent customer service to the public.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce laws and regulations to maintain public safety and order
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to solve crimes
  • Provide emergency response and assistance to the public
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to prevent and solve crimes
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Police Officer or equivalent experience in law enforcement
  • Completion of Field Training
  • Certified Colorado Police Officer
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Four (4) years of experience as a Police Officer or equivalent experience in law enforcement
  • Field Training or Skills Instructor
  • Advanced Classes totaling 100 hours of training
Work Environment:

This position will be assigned to work various shifts throughout the work week, including Saturday to Friday. Travel within the City of Canon City and Fremont County will be required.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this job require the ability to perform physically demanding activities in a variety of settings, including indoor and outdoor environments. The employee is sometimes required to drive, including marked and unmarked police vehicles, and may be occasionally exposed to hazardous and potentially lethal situations and individuals.
