Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Employment Specialist to join our team at Comprehensive Life Resources. As a key member of our Outreach team, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with employment barriers to achieve their vocational goals and maintain competitive employment in community settings.Key Responsibilities
  • Establish trusting relationships with participants and engage them in collaborative goal-setting to achieve competitive employment.
  • Assist participants in understanding their benefits and how employment may impact their eligibility, referring them to benefits counseling as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized employment plans, coordinating with treatment teams and incorporating participant preferences and mental health team input.
  • Conduct job development and job search activities tailored to participants' interests and strengths, adhering to IPS supported employment principles.
  • Provide follow-along supports to assist participants in maintaining employment, including life skills building, coaching, and on-site mentoring.
  • Collaborate with employers to negotiate job accommodations and provide education and support as agreed upon by participants.
  • Engage in outreach services to re-engage participants who appear to disengage from services, using various methods to provide support.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with mental health treatment teams and communicate individually with team members to coordinate vocational services.
  • Develop employment placement opportunities in public and private business communities through networking and relationship-building.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or related field.
  • 1+ years' experience in human services or related field, with preference for housing/homeless services, mental health, and sales experience.
  • Washington State credential/license or ability to obtain agency-affiliated counselor registration.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license and proof of insurance, with access to a vehicle for frequent community travel.
