Position Overview

The Customer Service Associate (CSA) plays a crucial role in fostering a welcoming environment, demonstrating exceptional customer service, and ensuring a positive experience for all patients at Salud. A Day in the Life of a Customer Service Associate (CSA) at Salud:

Your genuine compassion welcomes patients as they prepare to see their healthcare providers. You may take on roles such as greeter, front desk receptionist, or cashier. Your responsibilities include checking in patients for their appointments, assisting with check-outs, making reminder calls, addressing inquiries, managing patient concerns, and much more to ensure a positive experience for everyone.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
Experience:
  • Preferred: One year of front desk or customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other patient care team members.
  • Strong communication skills to interact clearly and appropriately with patients.
  • Professional demeanor and a positive attitude.
  • Proficient in basic mathematics.
  • Ability to learn and apply complex policies and procedures.
  • Strong reading comprehension and writing skills.
  • Proficient in keyboarding and word processing.
  • Preferred: One year of clerical office experience.
  • Familiarity with medical and dental terminology is preferred.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of low-income and ethnic minority communities.
  • Willingness to become proficient in using office equipment and electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Flexibility to work evening or weekend hours as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stress effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and correct errors.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Familiarity with computer applications (MS Office, PowerPoint, Chrome, etc.).
