We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Derivatives Investment Operations Manager to join our team at State Street Corporation. As a key member of our Middle Office Alpha Strategy business, you will be responsible for leading a fast-developing, derivatives-focused team and contributing to the success of our key strategic clients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a unit that may include employees, including staff and supervisors, and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Interact with middle office, custody, and leadership colleagues within State Street, as well as custodians, asset managers, prime brokers, and accounting agents.
- Liaise with internal and external customers, acting as a customer advocate, and guide others on our team and other teams procedurally.
- Problem-solve for escalated issues, review operational controls, and develop and present logs and PowerPoint presentations to address systematic and one-off issues in our control environment.
- Manage and develop people in multiple global locations, monitor metrics, and implement process improvements to enhance statistics and adherence to risk or SLA controls.
- Utilize data for trend analysis and leverage it in the development of enhanced processes, procedures, and controls.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
- Strong customer service acumen and significant experience in managing staff.
- Ability to work on projects and items across workstreams, taking initiative while managing cross-functional items.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including knowledge of securities language.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Economics, Master's degree or CFA a plus.
- Seven or more years of comparable work experience, with experience in the financial services industry preferred.
- Expert-level knowledge of Derivatives products and deep understanding of trade lifecycle events, especially for Derivatives instruments.
- Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of desktop software applications, including MS Office, Aladdin, Bloomberg, and Recon tool.
