Role Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Radiology Director, Medical Director, and Manager, the Lead Echocardiography Specialist will oversee daily operations in designated areas.

This position primarily involves performing interventional procedures (75%+ of the time).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting echocardiograms on patients of all ages, including infants, adolescents, and adults.
  • Analyzing data and providing calculations to assist physicians in delivering optimal care.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography.
  • Performing procedures in various settings, including the Echo Lab, patient bedside, and during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
  • Administering cardiac contrast agents safely and competently, including starting IVs as necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring departmental efficiency.
  • Responding promptly to on-call duties.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from a cardiac sonography program or equivalent on-the-job training.
  • Technical expertise in performing patient procedures relevant to each clinical area.
  • Current registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) in Adult Echocardiography preferred.
  • Basic Life Saving certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • A minimum of one year of echocardiography experience or equivalent training.
