Job Title: Program Manager for Community Based Initiatives

William James College, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Program Manager for Community Based Initiatives to join our team. As a key member of our Center for Workforce Development, you will play a critical role in overseeing our community-based initiatives, strengthening partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and working collaboratively with our administrative team to set and execute goals for our growth in community-based settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative oversight to our community-based initiatives, ensuring their successful implementation and growth.
  • Oversee the recruitment, interview, selection, and enrollment of program participants, ensuring a diverse and inclusive pool of candidates.
  • Manage efforts to address program participants' social determinants of health needs, including ESOL, digital and financial literacy, childcare, and transportation support services.
  • Foster positive and productive relationships with program participants, staff, faculty, internal departments, and external partner agencies, promoting a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.
  • Design and disseminate newsletters, event flyers, and program announcements, effectively communicating our initiatives and services to the community.
  • Create social media platforms to raise awareness of our community-based programs, engaging with our audience and promoting our mission.
  • Collect data and maintain databases for community-based programs, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement project plans and timelines, ensuring successful project delivery and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with funding agency guidelines and timelines, as appropriate, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Develop professional development workshops, conferences, webinars, and Continuing Education events for students, practitioners, and partner agencies, promoting lifelong learning and skill development.
  • Oversee outreach efforts to build partnerships with city, state, and community-based organizations, expanding and diversifying our workforce development programs.
  • Provide technical assistance and ongoing support to our workforce development programs, ensuring their continued growth and success.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in counseling, human services, psychology, or a related field.
  • Commitment to promoting the well-being of immigrants and other underserved populations, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Past or present engagement in community-based services with culturally diverse groups, demonstrating a deep appreciation for diversity and inclusion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, and ability to relate well to individuals from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve, and provide excellent customer service, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Experience with building and maintaining partnerships with community-based organizations, with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to adapt to the culture of a mission-driven, fast-paced educational environment, with a strong commitment to our values and mission.
  • Strong organizational, project coordination, and written and oral communication skills, with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining program participants' privacy and confidentiality, with a strong understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of MS Word and other web-based tools, as well as social media platforms, with a strong ability to learn and adapt new technologies.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license, with a strong ability to travel and work in a variety of settings.

Preference will be given to candidates with bilingual proficiency (i.e., English and Haitian Creole), with a strong ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
