Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Financial Fraud Prevention Specialist to join our team at Umpqua Bank.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify and prevent fraudulent transactions, analyzing trends and emerging schemes to recommend proactive prevention techniques.
  • Partner with various business lines to monitor and prevent fraud, ensuring prompt investigation of identified incidents.
  • Monitor customer accounts and transactions, contacting customers and bank associates to confirm legitimacy of high-risk payments.
  • Analyze current processes for opportunities to improve fraud prevention, monitoring, and procedural updates.
  • Review system reports for high-risk accounts and internal fraud, compiling ad-hoc reporting and completing analysis requests for management.
  • Participate in the implementation of new fraud prevention systems, tools, and processes, assisting in the planning and creation of complex analyses.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in audit, store operations, backroom operations, financial analysis, or accounting/bookkeeping.
  • 2-4 years of experience in store operations, compliance, analysis, and fraud prevention, with a focus on banking industry experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of bank computer systems, Microsoft Office software, and data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Ability to train and present to small and large audiences, with a willingness to obtain Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification.
