Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Youth Violence Prevention Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work with high-risk youth, building positive relationships and helping them achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Outreach: Conduct outreach in challenging neighborhoods, engaging with individuals at high risk of becoming involved in gun violence.
- Crisis Response: Provide immediate support to victims and families affected by community violence.
- Case Management: Develop Life Plans with each client, connecting them with needed services and incentives for achieving milestones.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, influencing their decision-making and promoting improved outcomes.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: A degree in case management, social work, or a related field, or equivalent experience working with at-risk youth.
- Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated understanding of the population served, the dynamics of gun violence, and effective strategies for prevention.
- Personal Qualities: Ability to navigate challenging environments, work collaboratively, and provide culturally sensitive support.
Benefits:
- Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
