Position Overview:


Responsible for managing store operations in the absence of upper management, ensuring all necessary systems are activated, handling cash transactions, and preparing the sales floor and stockroom for daily activities.

Accountable for overseeing the receipt of deliveries at the back entrance of the store.

Handles product returns, processes order cancellations, issues customer refunds, performs cash deposits into the safe, and provides change to cash registers as needed.

Exemplifies and promotes an exceptional customer service experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement Actively interacts with customers and clients by welcoming them and offering assistance with merchandise and services. Addresses customer concerns and provides answers to questions to guarantee a satisfactory customer experience.

Demonstrates and shares customer service best practices with all team members to ensure a unique and pleasant customer experience, including interpersonal skills (e.g., greeting, maintaining eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service principles (e.g., proactively offering help, identifying needs, ensuring satisfaction, etc.).

Operational Duties Holds store keys to open and close the store independently when necessary.

Guides and mentors team members in managing the warehouse and vendor ordering processes as orders are created, reviewed, and received, including granting access for vendor deliveries.

Responsible for accurately recording all sales on assigned cash registers, including documenting scanning errors, verifying prices, managing items not in the system, adjusting prices, and processing voids.

Assists the store manager or assistant manager in reviewing order discrepancies on release days and supports reverse logistics (e.g., returns, empty packaging).

Collaborates with the manager or assistant manager in assessing and developing product displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale items. Completes product resets and revisions.

Maintains precise inventory counts; ensures the accuracy of stock levels across various departments, stockroom, and overstock areas.

Assists in implementing the Outdate program with team members.

Responsible for pricing in basic departments and executing daily price adjustments; ensures proper signage is displayed to support accurate product pricing.

Ensures compliance with local regulations and any additional pricing tasks are completed accurately and within designated timeframes.

Assists with financial record-keeping tasks, including cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments as required or requested.

Contributes to the upkeep of the store's interior and exterior by maintaining a clean and orderly environment, including requesting repairs as needed in the absence of management.

Assists in the separation of food items (e.g., raw and pre-cooked) and product placement according to established policies and procedures (e.g., placing raw and frozen meats on lower shelves).

For consumable goods, assists in stock rotation using the first-in, first-out method and restocking as necessary.
Supports the execution of the Pickup program.
Possesses a working knowledge of store systems and equipment.

Assists at the Pharmacy service window as permitted by state regulations, having met the necessary requirements for licensure or certification.

Ensures adherence to state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcohol and tobacco).
Responsible for conducting bag checks for team members before they exit the store.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures; fosters respectful relationships with colleagues.
Completes special projects and additional tasks as assigned.
Training & Development Participates in training sessions and completes required PPLs as requested by management.

Communication Acts as a bridge between management and non-management team members by relaying assigned tasks when store management is unavailable.

Reports any disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Minimum of one year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder experience required.
Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
