Compensation: $18.00 per hour

Position Type: Seasonal

General Purpose:

The Seasonal Ice Rink Manager is responsible for overseeing various operational and administrative functions within an ice rink setting. This role involves supervising part-time staff, including rink guards and cashiers, while ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage public skating sessions, classes, rentals, and events, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and effective scheduling of staff.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and upkeep of the ice rink, skate shop, concession area, and surrounding facilities; maintain the quality of the ice surface and complete necessary operational documentation.
  • Exhibit professionalism in conduct, appearance, and interactions at all times.
  • Facilitate training sessions for staff to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure a positive experience for all visitors by responding promptly to inquiries and concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters and foster a respectful work environment.
  • Demonstrate reliability by adhering to scheduled work hours and attendance policies.
  • Effectively manage equipment and resources to optimize usage, maintain inventory levels, and control operational costs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include clerical tasks, maintenance, and departmental support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current CPR certification (adult-child-infant) from a recognized organization.
  • AED certification from a recognized organization.

  • Some college education is preferred.

Special Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license from the state.
  • Ability to operate an ice resurfacing machine.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and cash register operation.
  • Strong public relations skills and effective communication abilities.
