**Job Summary:** The Housekeeping Team Lead is a key member of the Hot Springs Convention Center team, responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the cleaning staff. This role requires a high level of organization, communication, and leadership skills to ensure the smooth operation of the housekeeping department.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager in receiving and executing instructions from management
  • Serve as second in command during a particular shift, ensuring the department runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the Convention Center, including hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, stairways, offices, artwork, and other work areas
  • Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners and other devices
  • Dust furniture and equipment
  • Greets guests in a courteous and professional manner
  • Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings
  • Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork
  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills
  • Empties wastebaskets, empties and cleans ashtrays
  • Collects trash in areas such as hallways, corridors, storerooms, and other areas indicated by management
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal areas
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies
  • Cleans and refreshes meeting areas before, during, and after meetings
  • Performs duties and functions as assigned by management
  • Sets up chairs, tables, and stands according to function specifications
  • Breaks down equipment and furniture for storage or use in additional functions

**Requirements:**

  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • One to three years of experience in housekeeping or a related field preferred
  • Specific vocational preparations preferred, including an occupationally significant combination of vocational education, apprentice training, on-the-job training, or essential experience in less responsible jobs
  • Must have developed language skills to the point of being able to read and understand instructions, safety rules, and communicate these instructions to others
  • Must be able to judge readily observable, functional, structural, or compositional characteristics of data, people, or things
  • Must be able to use body members, tools, or special devices to work, move, guide, or place objects or materials
  • Must be able to use hands to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy
  • Must be able to interpret simple room layout drawings
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather
  • Must be able to learn simple procedures and techniques
  • Must be able to perform routine or the same task over and over again
  • Must be able to stand or walk for varying lengths of time, sometimes for long periods
  • A valid Arkansas Driver's License is required for this position, as the employee may be required to drive a company vehicle to other sites
